Have you ever driven long distances and funneled through every station and every song on your playlist and still long for something, just anything to fill your soul. I love music and I really do enjoy singing in the car where no one judges my off key but there has been a longing of needing something more fulfilling. I have dabbled in audible books before but honestly, I can’t justify spending $14.95 a month for a book that I will unlikely “read” again. Unless it is “What I know for Sure” by Oprah Winfrey, I don’t pick books back up again. There are so many other worthwhile resources to get books from, that it just doesn’t appease me. Our library system has something called RB Digital (thanks Gretchen for the recommendation) and while the selection can be limiting, on that app, the audible books have helped me pass the time of my commute. Our library also has a lot of the classic books on cd and a selection of downloads on their website. Below are some of my favorites: (audible) A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle (book) Rising Strong by Brene Brown (book) Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert (audible) Braving the Wilderness by Brene Brown Below are some I didn’t care for: (audible) You’re Not That Great by Elan Gale (audible) The Last Black Unicorn by Tiffany Haddish (audible) Cooked by Michael Pollan I have really started to use my goodreads.com account. If you don’t know what that is, let me explain. Goodreads is a great platform where you can set goals for reading, make friends (or add your friends) and see what they are reading. You can track your book selection process and build lists based on what you want to read, what you are currently read and what you read. I find it is a good source for finding book s and reading reviews on books I think I want to read. I highly recommend getting on there and checking them out. And, if you need some inspiration or want to make a friend, add me. Kallai Abbo is the name. See you there! #notsponsored
