Turning 31 this year was more pivotal than 30. I am not sure if all or part of this was because I had just started coming off my “just married” high or if I just thought 30 wasn’t full of life lessons yet. Maybe a little bit of both. I can honestly say though, that there are plenty of things that I will carry with me that I have discovered leading up to 31.
I can’t wait for what this year has in store for me. I wish everyone who is turning yet another year older, embrace it and love that it is another year of wisdom, grace and love that you experienced, no matter if there were times of sorrow, it was a season. Seasons change.

Sometimes it can be difficult to stay focused and attentive to the tasks that need to be accomplished. Often times, the mind starts to wander and then we find ourselves wondering where the time went and why we have nothing accomplished. It can really becoming discouraging and the panic can set in.
However, there are 5 simple steps that can be taken to keep your mind sharp and focused to get the most out of your time available.
Small details can really make a huge impact on a productivity schedule. Sometimes there is limited time for so many tasks. Going into your day with your mind clear and focused will only aid in effective completion. Happy Productivity! We have certainly moved into the time of year where families will gather and the hustle and bustle of choosing gifts for our family will be on our minds. Thanksgiving for many is a family gathered around the table, most often in stretchy pants, filling their mouths with the wonderful food the men or women for generations have made for them. Thanksgiving and this time of year truly is the time to be thankful. But how do we do that? For some, it is hard to break out of their shell and express their sincere thanks.
So, I thought today would be a good time to share some tips on how you can express thanks daily, all year around no matter who you are or where you live. Stop and Look Around. When you spend just a few seconds thinking about these two questions, it is a simple step to help you along. -What are two things that I am thankful for in my life? -Who are two people that I am thankful for in my life? Try and select different things and people each day. Express Your Thankfulness. Showing gratitude is quite a humbling experience for us all. Many people shy away from it because it leaves us open, vulnerable and unsure of what the other person’s response will be. However, I assure you, if you are showcasing that you are thankful for them, they certainly are thankful for you too! You can show them by simply acts such as, a phone call on your way to or from work, a message left on their car or home door, a simple email, or a card in the mail (people LOVE getting unannounced things in the mail). Appreciate Yourself, too! You are important and Valuable too! Ask yourself, what are two things that I can be thankful for about myself? Things like: I am a good friend, a good siste, a good mother. I even made it through the day without thinking bad body image thoughts. ALL of these are things to be thankful for within yourself! Start or End You Day With A Thankful Heart! Just as you get out of bed, or just before you settle in, make a habit to settle in with a thankful heart. Truly use this exercise as a tool to promote self-awareness, lower your stress and anxiety, and just be grateful. Try these tiny commitments that cost nothing and watch the enhancements in your life grow. Sometimes all people need to hear is a “thank-you”. Sale Saturday is a must check –in before you leave the house, because maybe, you won’t have to leave the house at all! (Hello! Online Shopping!) Below are the steals that I think are worth a click or a trip across town:
Bath &Body Works has got Saturday going on! They have lotions (original $12.50) for $3! Yes, you read that right $3! PLUS it is Buy 3 get 2 free or buy 2 and get 1 free! If you are anything like me, I need all the help I can get with my skin in the winter! Dying over this deal! It is only good for today (11/12/2016), so naturally I recommend a stock up or stocking stuffers! Victoria Secret has panties 7 for $27.50. It isn’t a steal but compared to the original 5 for $27.50, I thought it would still be worth refreshing the panty drawer. This deal ends Sunday (11/13/2016) Macy’s is still going to rock the Veteran Day sale with an extra 20% off until today (11/12/2016). Plus select boots are 50% off. For those who always ask where I get my boots from…psssttt..hint, hint. It is also usually during this time of year. Banana Republic caught my eye with a few things and a 40% off my purchase until today (11/12/2016). I don’t have a Banana Republic near me, so it will likely feel like Christmas in a few days! (Thanks, UPS) I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Stay tuned for gift guides in the next few weeks! Fall is my absolute favorite. The crisp air that brushes across my nose, reminds me that I should pull out some of the seasonal favorites and use them. When I do, my mood seems to be a little bit better even if I know snow is around the corner. There are specific things that I don’t mind pulling out of the closet and putting them on repeat every year.
Fall makes me feel cozy and most of all a little more aware of being thankful (not that I’m not any other sector of the year). It allows me to dress in layers, which I can’t deny, I love. Most of all, it makes me feel at home, snuggled with my family and loving that soon, we get to be gathered with our family all under one roof. What are your favorites?! Leave me a comment below.
