YOU GUYS! We are in NOVEMBER! What is happening?! Someone please call father time and see if you can negotiate some of this back. Just kidding, every day is progress and I have made some significant progress. I am talking #last90days progress. If you remember, I wrote on Last 90 Days here and shared what that entailed. I’ll be honest, I have struggled but I have also learned a whole lot about myself. Where I have struggled: 1. Getting up early. Getting up an hour early is quite the daunting task when I have been doing it for 2 years and I finally get the opportunity to “sleep in”. It is difficult to justify getting up when all I have been needing is to get more sleep. So, I have incorporated balance. There are 5 days a week that require me to get up early and on those days, I have made the promise to get up an hour early to do my Bible study and really love on myself. I then take Daniella to school and head to the gym. Now, if I happen to miss the alarm 1-2 of those days, then when the weekend comes, I have to get up an hour early than I usually do to make up for it. On the weekends, I am always the first to rise and I have ample time for myself in the morning. My internal alarm doesn’t allow me to go past 7:30am and I find that reasonable on the weekends. 2. Giving up a food category or some type of food that isn’t good for me. I am still struggling with this and every day I try to make a conscious effort to eat better than the last. Moving forward for November, however, I am giving up bread for certain because it just makes me feel bad. Where I have gained: 1. Gratitude. Writing 10 things that I am thankful for every day has been the best blessing in my life. I truly have open my eyes, up off of my phone, to recognize and be conscious of those around me to appreciate their beauty but also their kindness towards me. 2. Water intake. I have always drank a ton of water and usually by the gallon, so honestly, this was the easiest task for me. I will say that it is usually the first thing that goes when my eating slips but I actually have been loving putting a lemon in my water. It has also helped my skin and digestion! 3. Move my body for 30 minutes. I wasn’t quite ready to get back to the gym in October but I knew that I had to keep my body in motion to prepare the next announcement I am going to reveal. So, in effort to complete this, I was either walking or doing yoga every day. Was, meaning that I have a specific program to follow which is….. POWERLIFTING IS BACK! You read that right. I have decided to get the coaching for powerlifting back and make my way (slowly) back to the platform. I have spent some time giving back to the sport by being a state referee but, I also spent some time really reflecting on if I wanted to continue to powerlift. After much deliberation, I decided to go for it. It has been on my heart and I truly missed it. We aren’t going to call it a comeback just yet, as I have a ton of work to do BUT we are on our way folks. These next 60 days, I am committing to a better me mentally, physically and emotionally. Life is so much better when you show up for yourself and love on yourself with the things that make you feel healthy and confident.
