Well, June was NOTHING like I anticipated and by nothing, I mean absolutely nothing. Things I Did Do Purged My Books…Again. There are very few books that I have left from purging and honestly it feels good. I have gotten to a point where I just want to keep the ones that I really know myself to reread. It can become overwhelming and consuming if I am purchasing books just to take up space. Giving books that I read once and barely enjoyed away was a good piece of solitude for me. Travel. A lot. Let me just give a quick break down of what my June month consisted of. June 16-21st I was in Florida for a work trip. Then June 27th I was on a one way ticket to Texas. June 29th, I was in a U-Haul and car for 30 hours. Drove/Rode across the country. Listen, this was not what I thought was going to happen in June. Matter of fact, no one expected it. Two things: 1. I’ve never ridden that long in a vehicle before and 2. I have never been across the country in a vehicle. It was tiring, fun, and so worth it. So fricken worth it. Things I Didn’t Do Complete a Whole 30 Round. OBVIOUSLY, I have no time. I mean, if you read the above, we all know it wasn’t going to happen. I am not even going to try for July because that has already been off to a rocky start. Maybe August. Get My Website Completed. I had totally forgotten that when you switch your domain, you have a waiting period and so once that process is complete, I will have my website completed. Store Unnecessary Things. With my big change, I had to rearrange and sort through some things to make room for two more humans. I can’t believe the amount of things that I had even moved with in January that were just taking up space. Thankfully, I went through the purging process again with the mindset that if I didn’t use it in the 6 months I had been here, then I didn’t need to keep it. Lessons I Learned
Love > Exhaustion.Spending 30 hours in vehicles over the course of 1400 miles can be quite the experience and is exhausting. Especially with 1 ½ hours of sleep. One thing I realized is that even through the exhaustion, love can triumph over that and real love shows you that it can get you through anything, if you let it. You Have No Power of Timing. If you think that this life works on your timing and your goals alone with what you alone manifest, friend, you are highly mistaken. Let me just share with you that you can have a plan laid out and within 24 hours, you are on a different plan. Insert June here. Bottom line, you cannot force or manipulate timing. You just simply have to ride the wave. Some Things are Better Left Unsaid.Let me make something clear. You don’t have to say yes to anything you don’t want to. And, if an argument persists itself, you don’t have to respond. Do you hear me? If there is nothing you get out of reading this gibberish, please understand that. July Goals Get everyone settled. I have a ton of moving parts and a lot of life changes so my goal is to make sure everyone is settled before August comes and we are in the hustle of getting everyone around for school. Settle My Mind. I’ve been really restless lately. My anxiety has been through the roof and I haven’t been able to sleep well. I am hoping with some factors that are in my control and even with the ones that are not, I am able to settle my mind and at the very least, get some good sleep. Taking care of my mental health is really at the top of the priority list. Blog on a consistent schedule. I have definitely been prone to letting life events and (if I’m being honest) laziness consume the fact that I don’t need to use this space as often as I should. I am definitely going to work on changing that this month. Friends, sometimes goals just have to bring you back to the basics. Mental health is so important and if that is your only goal for this month, is to take care of it, you’ve already won. I hope everyone had a safe 4th of July and is trending forward in their goals!
